Getting started

Ssentezo Wallet collects and sends Ugandan shillings for a merchant organization. Mobile money, hosted card checkout, and bank transfer are separate API calls. A new account starts in SANDBOX.

Base URL. https://wallet.ssentezo.com/api. There is no /v1 prefix. Sandbox is the organization status, not a second set of routes in this application.

How a payment works

Your server creates a unique reference and calls collection, card checkout, payout, or bank transfer.
The API returns PENDING when the request is accepted.
The customer approves mobile money, completes card checkout, or the bank transfer is processed.
You confirm the result with the status API. A callback or browser return is only a signal.

Quick start

Create an account. Use merchant registration. The organization is created as SANDBOX. Create API credentials. After sign-in, open API keys and name the application. The API user is the Basic username and the API key is the password. Regeneration replaces the key. Read the balance. POST /api/acc_balance with {"currency":"UGX"}. You can run this from the playground while the organization is SANDBOX. Request a test collection from your server. POST /api/deposit with a unique externalReference, a Ugandan mobile number, and an amount of at least 500. The playground does not send this call. Verify it. POST /api/get_status/{externalReference}. Treat only SUCCEEDED as paid and only FAILED as failed. Receive the callback, then verify again. Success and failure URLs get one unsigned POST. There is no signature and no automatic retry.
